Fusing art, music, wine and two Virginia counties

Bridge the Gap for Art is an opportunity to hop between Noon Whistle Pottery and SoLace Studios Fine Handcrafts by taking a scenic drive over the Blue Ridge Mountains

Visit both galleries in the same day or visit one gallery each day. Linger in the mountains overnight with accommodations at Cair Paravel Farm & Lodging in Stanardsville, Virginia or Chesley Creek Farm in Dyke, Virginia. You’ll be planning your return trip while in the middle of your first visit.

When:

On the premier opening weekend, gallery openings will be held simultaneously at both galleries on Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7, 2019 10am-5pm. Visit Noon Whistle Pottery in Stanardsville, Virginia to enjoy art, wine, music and tapas. Take the beautiful 20 minute drive through Shenandoah National Park to SoLace Studios Fine Handcrafts in Elkton, Virginia for more art, wine, music and tapas. If you are unable to come to the opening weekend, the Bridge the Gap for Art special exhibits continue through May 31 at both galleries.

During Bridge the Gap for Art inaugural opening weekend festivities, SoLace Studios will feature original works by local artists including watercolors by Janet Wright, rug hooking by Nancy Slye and nuno felting by Johlene Hess. Also at SoLace, a Bowl of Good of Harrisonburg will provide light gourmet tapas. Brix and Columns Vineyards of McGaheysville will offer a sampling of wine for tasting while enjoying live local music talent.

Meanwhile during the inaugural Bridge the Gap weekend opening, Noon Whistle Pottery will offer you the opportunity to meet the Central Virginia Textile Artists who will exhibit tapestry and loomed wall pieces and scarves. Also featured will be the upcycled found object clocks by Allan Young who says, “My clocks are not just time pieces, but storytellers.” Savories and sweets by Flaming BonBons Catering Co., wine tastings by Kilaurwen Winery and lively Irish traditional music by Dusty Hedgehogs, Dal Riata and other local musicians guarantee a great weekend.
